Trade Show at the Houses of Parliament

Excited to discover how TotalWM and the government can achieve international trade goals together…

We were proud to attend an exclusive trade show at the Houses of Parliament, organised by Santander. This invitation-only event took place on 22nd April 2024 – giving TotalWM a unique and exciting opportunity to showcase our metal recycling and export trade capabilities to the government.

It was fantastic to meet the Secretary of State for Defence, Grant Shapps; the Minister for Small Business, Kevin Hollinrake; the Shadow Exports Minister, Tan Dhesi MP and members of the Business and Trade and Treasury Select Committees, including Anthony Mangnall MP, who sponsored the event.

It was also wonderful to meet the third party representatives that joined the event from the Department for Business and Trade, TheCityUK, The Food and Drink Federation and 10 Downing Street's Business Relations Team, amongst others.

TotalWM, Helping UK industry reduce carbon, reuse waste and recycle for a brighter future

TotalWM offer a bespoke and individually tailored metal recycling and waste management solutions to each of our  UK clients, designed to fit their material and specific requirements, providing  a fully maximised financial return through the continued development of unique, highly efficient and innovative solutions.

New, innovative Leimbach 1400 fully electric shear

In 2023 we invested £3m in our state-of-the art fully electric shear. With zero harmful emissions, it is capable of cutting through large volumes of metal quickly and efficiently, processing in excess of 500 tonnes of ferrous and non-ferrous metal per day.

Monthly Environmental Reporting

We deliver monthly reports to our clients detailing the amount of waste diverted from landfill and recovered / recycled throughout the month. Information is also provided on the amount of CO2 eq that is attributed to this activity.

100% Carbon Neutral and on track to Net Zero

TotalWM are proud to have been awarded the Gold Standard™ and to have been declared a carbon neutral company, but we are acutely aware that this is only the start of our journey; the real challenge of being a net carbon emitter continues apace.

Our future plans and goals

To continue the drive towards full resource recovery whilst maximising out continued growth in ferrous and non-ferrous exports via our partnership with London Gateway Port Terminal, a deep sea container port strategically located just 5 miles from our site in Basildon, Essex.
